Background

Lynsey completed her BSc in Sport and Exercise Science at the University of Birmingham in 2006 and continued onto an MSc in Exercise Physiology at Loughborough University. She then worked in applied sports science support within professional football and rugby, in addition to individual marathon runners, cyclists and triathletes in Plymouth. Lynsey moved back into the world of academia for a role as a Teaching Assistant at Coventry University, where she also continued to provide some applied sports science support for professional football players, boxers and water polo players. Lynsey currently delivers Exercise Physiology lab sessions in her remit as Technical Tutor in Exercise Physiology and continues to provide sports science support to Great Britain Water Polo. In addition to this Lynsey is a part-time PhD student within the Translational Chemical Biology Group (TCB).

Outside of work, Lynsey enjoys travelling to destinations off the beaten track and watching various sporting competitions.  She also tries to practice what she preaches by playing national league water polo for Hucknall Water Polo Club.

£1300 from National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Diet, Lifestyle & Physical Activity Biomedical Research Unit based at University Hospitals of Leicester and Loughborough University for consumables relating to a study on omega-3 supplementation and cycling performance.

£1000 travel grant from School of Sport, Exercise and Health Science, Loughborough University to attend and present at the American College of Sports Medicine AnnualConference, San Diego, California.
